What is your favorite announcer pack in Heroes of the Storm?
2020.10.08 10:53 HugeLibertarian What is your favorite announcer pack in Heroes of the Storm?
What is your favorite announcer pack in Heroes of the Storm? I'm always wondering what announcer packs people like to use and why? Considering the gravitas of some of the many Blizzard heroes, I think announcer packs are one of my favorite parts of this game!
Some of my personal favorites are Abathur (good, logical instructions), Deathwing (that REVERB though), Alarak (so rude!), and Garrosh (so ANGRY!).
Illidan, Arthas, Raynor and Kerrigan are a few other absolutely classic voice packs, considering how much I love the RTS's. Anyways vote on some of YOUR favorites below and tells us what you love about each one in the comments!
Kel'Thuzad and Mephisto are also just so extra and never shut up and it's awesome.
D'Va and Brightwing on the other hand are actually just so loud and annoyingly high-pitched that I specifically never use them...
(Please don't vote more than once on the same announcer pack but DO vote for multiple announcer packs if you really like more than one!)

2019.11.26 03:28 Nklst Casey Newton from The Verge on what Cohen got right and wrong about Facebook and social networks
Welcome back to our discussion about platforms and democracy! I had a great time meeting
Interface readers last week at the Techonomy conference in Half Moon Bay and the Conference on New Media and Democracy at Tufts University. I also made great progress on a special report I plan to have for you here before the end of the year. But enough prelude — on with today’s update.
“I’m one of the last people you’d expect to hear warning about the danger of conspiracies and lies,” the actor and comedian Sacha Baron Cohen said today in an op-ed in the Washington Post
, adapted from last week’s viral speech
about the dangers of social networks at an Anti-Defamation League conference.
In fact, Cohen is exactly the sort of person I’d expect to be warning us about social networks. As a rich celebrity who has no need for the free communication tools they provide, and who can thrive without relying on the promotional benefits that come with active use of the platforms, blasting Big Tech costs Cohen nothing.
Meanwhile, few people would have ever even heard of Cohen’s speech had it not thrived on social media — first on Twitter, then on YouTube — where social media critiques, particularly of Facebook, have grown increasingly popular. In coming to bury the big platforms, Cohen inadvertently proved their benefit: providing a wide lane for an outsider — in this case, a comedian with no previous experience as a tech pundit — to come in and start a worthwhile discussion.
To be sure, Cohen raises some valuable points — and he does so with more nuance and detail than the average “Zuck sucks” Twitter egg in my mentions. (Note the way he cites academic research in his links — a welcome touch.) Cohen is right, for example, about the unique danger of algorithmic recommendations on social platforms — the way they give fringe viewpoints unearned reach, and recruit followers for violent ideologies, most prominently on the far right: The algorithms these platforms depend on deliberately amplify content that keeps users engaged — stories that appeal to our baser instincts and trigger outrage and fear. That’s why fake news outperforms real news on social media; studies show lies spread faster than truth. On the Internet, everything can appear equally legitimate. Breitbart resembles the BBC, and the rantings of a lunatic seem as credible as the findings of a Nobel Prize winner. We have lost a shared sense of the basic facts upon which democracy depends.
Cohen also picks up on issue we have discussed here quite often in recent months: the fact that large technology companies, thanks to a combination of ignorance and inattention from our elected officials, are essentially accountable to no one, even as their products have unleashed dangerous, rippling butterfly effects the world over: These super-rich “Silicon Six” care more about boosting their share price than about protecting democracy. This is ideological imperialism — six unelected individuals in Silicon Valley imposing their vision on the rest of the world, unaccountable to any government and acting like they’re above the reach of law. Surely, instead of letting the Silicon Six decide the fate of the world order, our democratically elected representatives should have at least some say.
Unfortunately, Cohen’s proposed solution for making tech platforms accountable is to amend Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act to make Facebook and other sites legally liable for what their users post. He approvingly cites the passage last year of FOSTA-SESTA, an act nominally intended to reduce sex trafficking that was really about scrubbing sexual content off the internet. By all accounts, it has done almost nothing to reduce sex trafficking. Instead, it has forced sex workers to once again rely on abusive pimps and put themselves into unnecessary danger
Websites reacted to the passage of FOSTA-SESTA by overreacting
. Once Craigslist could be found legally liable for unwittingly hosting an ad that enabled sex trafficking, it removed all personals from its service altogether. Reddit removed several communities associated with sex work. Several sites that allowed sex workers to vet potential clients shut down entirely
It seems likely that amending Section 230 to introduce what scholars call “intermediary liability” for Facebook et al would play out in much the same way: by over-moderating and censoring speech. In an environment in which democracy is in retreat around the world, and the internet is increasingly controlled by far-right authoritarian governments, the prospect of surging censorship in our communications tools sends a chill down my spine. How will Cohen feel when a government orders the takedown of one of his satires across the entire internet? If 230 disappears, and other countries adopt similar measures, I can’t imagine a likelier target.
Moreover, it’s Section 230 that enables platforms to be more aggressive in pulling down hate speech and abusive content — the outcome that Cohen argues for most passionately in his speech. His argument to eliminate Section 230 protections glosses right over this point, likely because Cohen misunderstands what Section 230 actually does
. (See also Mike Masnick on this point
Those qualms aside, what has stayed with me most about Cohen’s speech is the way it captures the new conventional wisdom among left-leaning critics: that Facebook disproportionately benefits the right wing. (Plenty of conservatives believe the exact opposite, of course.)
The thought that Facebook empowers the far right is not exactly new. Anxiety that Facebook had become a handmaiden to the conservative movement lay at the root of Cambridge Analytica blowing up into a global scandal in 2018, two years after we knew most of the details. (We knew that Facebook was sharing our data with third parties. What most of us didn’t know was that third parties were using that data as part of sophisticated, micro-targeted political influence campaigns.)
But there is new evidence of Facebook’s material support of the right wing. In the Wall Street Journal
this weekend, Deepa Seetharaman profiled James Barnes
, who Facebook once embedded in the Trump campaign to help officials there use the company’s advertising platform. Barnes, who like a growing number of former Facebook employees experienced a crisis of conscience over the work he did there, revealed that the company had made unusual arrangements to ensure Trump could buy the maximum amount of ads:
The profile lays out the extraordinary amount of assistance that Facebook lent Trump. In theory, the same amount of assistance was available to Hillary Clinton, but she declined. Barnes hand-coded custom advertising tools for Trump, ran split tests on advertising copy to see which would be most effective, and offered troubleshooting help whenever asked during what he describes as 12-hour days working on the campaign. He also ensured the company could access a larger line of credit than Facebook had ever previously extended: The Trump campaign needed a large credit line from Facebook, according to Mr. Barnes and others familiar with the situation. This issue posed special challenges. Facebook sometimes extends credit to a select group of digital agencies, but Mr. Parscale’s outfit didn’t qualify for a large line because it didn’t have a track record with Facebook, according to people familiar with the matter. The Trump team also wanted to pay for ads with a credit card, but Facebook’s transactions system wasn’t set up to handle payments of as much as $300,000 to $400,000 a day on a credit card, according to Mr. Barnes and others familiar with the matter. As employees looked for ways to address the problem, Mr. Parscale texted Mr. Barnes to say Mr. Trump would go on TV and “say Facebook was being unfair to him” if the issue wasn’t resolved quickly, Mr. Barnes said. Eventually, Facebook came up with a fix.
Of course, it’s possible that Facebook bent over backwards for Trump for simple reasons of self-preservation. In an environment where regulation seems increasingly likely, a corporation will naturally seek to make nice with any potential nemesis.
Still, the scope of Facebook’s aid to the Trump campaign is surprising. And it gives credence to one of the arguments made forcefully by Cohen: that social networks have been far more successful at empowering dangerous reactionaries than they have more progressive forces.
In most ways, 2019 was a stellar year for Facebook’s business. (Alex Heath has a nice [paywalled!] overview here
.) But it was a bad year for Facebook’s reputation. And until the company is held accountable for the misuses of its products in some meaningful way, it’s hard to see how that will improve. I only hope that when regulation comes, policymakers come up with better solutions than Cohen did.

2019.10.05 18:10 Raygnah Saturday 5th of October Street Battles
- U.S. unemployment dropped to a half-century low in September and job growth continued at a modest pace, signs the economy is holding up despite a broader global slowdown. The jobless rate dropped to 3.5% in September from 3.7% in August, marking the lowest rate since December 1969 when it also logged in at 3.5%. Employers added 136,000 jobs in September, and payrolls for August and July were revised up, the Labor Department reported Friday.
2. Imagine a world where wage growth was truly stagnant only for workers in high-wage industries, such as medicine and consulting. Imagine a labor market where earnings growth for low-wage workers, such as those who work in retail and restaurants, had doubled in the past five years. Imagine an economy where wages for the poorest Americans were rising twice as fast as hourly earnings for high-wage earners. It turns out that all three of those things are happening right now
3. The U.S. trade gap widened in August
as American consumers bought more cellphones and other goods from abroad while businesses exported more oil and autos, a sign of the economy’s resilience amid a global economic slowdown. The trade deficit in goods and services increased 1.6% from a month earlier to a seasonally adjusted $54.9 billion in August, the Commerce Department said Friday. The report offered a reassuring sign about the overall health of the U.S. economy and the willingness of Americans to spend despite a spate of weak manufacturing data, cooling global growth and uncertainty around the U.S.-China trade war.
- The U.S. economy faces some risks to growth but remains in a good place overall, Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell said on Friday. “Our job is to keep it there as long as possible,” Mr. Powell said in opening remarks set for delivery Friday at a conference at the central bank’s headquarters in Washington. This year, the Fed has cut its benchmark rate twice—most recently last month to the current target range of 1.75% to 2%—to guard against the risk of a sharper-than-expected slowdown amid weaker global growth and rising trade and geopolitical uncertainty.
5. The Federal Reserve Bank of New York will extend its intervention in the repo market into November
, it said on Friday, soothing concerns about a re-emergence of the cash crunch that sent short-term interest rates soaring in September. The New York Fed first stepped into the repo market, where banks and investors borrow cash in exchange for Treasuries and other high-quality collateral, after the cost of borrowing money overnight quadrupled to 10 per cent last month.
6. The Social Security debate has moved left
. That shift, evidenced by presidential candidates’ plans and a bill backed by nearly 90% of House Democrats, departs from years of conversations about an elusive bipartisan compromise where Democrats agree to lower promised benefits and Republicans accept higher taxes. Instead, President Trump has ruled out cuts to future benefits. Democrats have lined up behind larger benefits and higher taxes.
- Social Security's costs are projected to exceed income next year for the first time since 1982, forcing the program to dip into its nearly $3 trillion trust fund, built up when payroll taxes exceeded benefits. Unless Congress acts, that trust fund will be depleted in 2034 and benefits would be automatically cut by more than 20%. Congress could fill the gap by raising payroll taxes or diverting general-fund revenue. Less disruptive changes now could close the shortfall, but lawmakers have little incentive to move. Make benefits richer, and the trust fund runs out sooner. Raise taxes, increase the retirement age or slow benefit increases, and the program stays solvent longer.
- The White House issued a presidential proclamation on Friday night requiring many future immigrant visa applicants to show they can afford health care, a move that could make it harder for poor migrants to enter the U.S. The action, which is set to take effect in 30 days, would require applicants, including people with ties to family members in the U.S., to show they have health insurance or prove their financial ability to pay for medical care before being issued a visa that could lead to a green card.
- Beijing flexed its muscles on Tuesday with one of the country's biggest-ever military parades to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the foundation of the People's Republic of China. The array of new weaponry showcased in the extravaganza reflects China's "war plan," which is aimed at realizing the military annexation of Taiwan by 2049 -- the centennial of Communist Party rule -- while preventing intervention by the U.S.
10. Street battles raged across Hong Kong
and the city’s subway operator suspended its entire network late Friday as the government’s move to invoke emergency measures and ban people from wearing masks at protests triggered a backlash. The city’s leader, Chief Executive Carrie Lam, invoked the British colonial-era law for the first time in 52 years, saying it was a deterrent to social unrest that posed a serious public danger. The ban on people wearing masks at public gatherings and unlawful assemblies would be punishable by as much as one year in prison. Chinese authorities have hit out at US, British and European Union officials
, accusing them of siding with “black mobs” during one of the most violent days since Hong Kong’s return to Chinese sovereignty.
- Hunter Biden, the son of former United States vice-president Joe Biden, is listed as a director of a state-backed equity fund in China, but public records do not appear to support claims by US President Donald Trump that he used his father’s connections to secure Chinese capital for his investments. Trump on Thursday called on China to investigate Biden, now a leading Democratic presidential candidate, and his son, alleging the younger Biden used his position of influence to secure US$1.5 billion in funding from the government-owned Bank of China for a private equity firm he was involved in and made millions in the process. The best reported story I've seen on Hunter Biden was published by The New Yorker in its July 1st (2019) edition. You can access that article by clicking here.
- Democrats pursuing the impeachment inquiry into Donald Trump have served the White House with a subpoena, in an effort to obtain documents related to the investigation that the Trump administration has refused to give to House panels leading the probe. “We deeply regret that President Trump has put us — and the nation — in this position, but his actions have left us with no choice but to issue this subpoena,” said Elijah Cummings, the Democratic chair of the House oversight committee, explaining a move that was joined by the heads of both the intelligence and foreign affairs committees.
13. A second intelligence official who was alarmed by President Trump’s dealings with Ukraine is weighing whether to file his own formal whistle-blower complaint and testify to Congress
, according to two people briefed on the matter. The official has more direct information about the events than the first whistle-blower, whose complaint that Mr. Trump was using his power to get Ukraine to investigate his political rivals touched off an impeachment inquiry. The second official is among those interviewed by the intelligence community inspector general to corroborate the allegations of the original whistle-blower, one of the people said.
14. A Republican senator said he was told by an American diplomat in August that the release of U.S. aid to Ukraine was contingent on an investigation desired by President Trump
and his allies, but Mr. Trump denied pursuing any such proposal when the lawmaker pressed him on it. Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) said that Gordon Sondland, the U.S. ambassador to the European Union, had described to him a quid pro quo involving a commitment by Kyiv to probe matters related to U.S. elections and the status of nearly $400 million in U.S. aid to Ukraine that the president had ordered to be held up in July.
15. After years of growing hostility and competition for influence, Saudi Arabia and Iran have taken steps toward indirect talks
to try to reduce the tensions that have brought the Middle East to the brink of war, according to officials from several countries involved in the efforts. Even the prospect of such talks represents a remarkable turnaround, coming only a few weeks after a coordinated attack on Saudi oil installations led to bellicose threats in the Persian Gulf. Any reconciliation between Saudi Arabia and Iran could have far-reaching consequences for conflicts across the region.
16. Taliban officials have met in Pakistan with the top American diplomat
who recently led peace negotiations with the insurgent group, current and former members of the Taliban said on Saturday, the first time representatives from both sides had met since President Trump called off the talks last month.
- Boris Johnson’s Brexit plans look to be falling apart as the European commission said there are no grounds to accept a request from the UK for intensive weekend negotiations two weeks before an EU summit. EU sources said there was no basis for such discussions, given the British prime minister’s insistence on there being a customs border on the island of Ireland.
- Mr. Johnson’s most senior adviser warned last night that Britain would leave the European Union without a deal if Brussels refused to compromise, Dominic Cummings told government advisers that the prime minister would not repeat the mistakes of his predecessor and delay Brexit. “Next week we are going to know how things turn out,” he said. “If the EU says no then we are not going to do what the last lot did and change our negotiating position. If we don’t get anything next week, we are gone.”

2019.04.06 23:32 Cracking4you Download VISUALIZER 3D (CRACK) OKM Metal Detector Treasure Finder
Download VISUALIZER 3D (CRACK) OKM Metal Detector Treasure Download VISUALIZER 3D v2 CRACK OKM Metal Detector Treasure Finder - Visualizer3D Crack Full Version License Activated
Download Crack VISUALIZER3D Designed visualization software for OKM metal detectors, which represents detected targets in three-dimensional graphics. Several software functions and filters are available to improve the graphical representations. Furthermore Visualizer 3D is able to determine position, size and depth of located objects. http://www.visualizer3d.com/downloads.php https://cracking4you.com/cracked/67-download-visualizer-3d-crack-okm-metal-detector-treasure-finder.html Depth measurement
Due to this 3d software for metal detectors it is possible to determine the depth of located targets and voids. Depth measurement is precisely adjusted to the local ground conditions in your area. The depth penetration of a metal detector can change because of the local conditions of the underground. So it can vary in different soil structures and soil types such as loam, sand, rocks, mineralised soils, concrete or others. The penetrability of the ground is important for the scan results and influence the depth measurement of every metal detector or geophysical measuring system. OKM software engineers developed a unique way to determine accurately the depth of anomalies by adjusting the type of soil in the measured area. Determination of object position and size
The Visualizer 3D software allows the prospector to enter the dimensions of his scanned area in feet or meters. So the represented 3d graphic is visible in real proportions. The cross hairs navigation through the arrow keys of your computer keyboard allows to pinpoint the exact position of a detected item in an easy and user friendly way. You will not miss any object because of digging at the wrong place. Wireframe view
The wire frame view shows each measure point and scan line made with your metal detecting instrument. It split up your 3d scan image (your scanned area) to a grid view. So you can determine accurately the position of detected metal targets or cavities. Automatic/Manual correction of error signals
When scanning an area it can happen that you will get some interference signals from the environment. For example when you are working in urban areas where are lots of electric machinery, high voltage lines and mobile network.
The 3d software includes a function to eliminate such error signals. It is possible to remove a particular signal or use the automatic function to reduce all fail signals.
In this way you can guarantee that all errors are removed from your graphic and concentrate yourself on the measured values of the underground. Printout
The software offers a printout function, so you can print all your scan images on a connected printer. Different views of the graphic together with all entered project data such as file name, characteristics and field size can be printed. Automatic measurement completion in case of missing signals
The software reproduce automatically missing signals to receive a complete 3d graphic of the underground. Some reasons for missing some signals can be for example when you power of the device before finishing your measurement or when you loose signals during the transfer of the measured data via the radio transmission unit to your pc. http://www.visualizer3d.com/downloads.php https://cracking4you.com/cracked/67-download-visualizer-3d-crack-okm-metal-detector-treasure-finder.html

2017.07.10 06:07 OmnigamerSDA SGDQ MashAttack Results & Discussion
Hello all, I once again had MashAttack up and running at several points during SGDQ. MashAttack is a specialized program and hardware that lets players analyze their button mashing ability, and hopefully improve based on that information. I previously had it set up at AGDQ, and the data I have available is a combination of those two events.
The overall summary:
- While several players attempted multi-finger single-button techniques at AGDQ, they generally were not very successful. Many more players at SGDQ were able to use these strategies effectively, and most achieved between 13 and 16 Hz when properly executed.
- SNES is by far the most often selected input type. However, I had many, many requests for GameCube controller support, but the hardware cannot currently support it. Maybe for next time.
- Standard (10 second session) is by far the most popular test. For the most part, however, rates between Standard and Sprint (5 seconds) were not notably different.
- Marathon (30 second) sessions are hard. Fatigue definitely sets in for typical mashing holds and techniques. That said, players with high consistency scores in other durations generally are able to maintain better overall rates in Marathon.
- Keaur is too good. He swept every category except for 1 Button Marathon. Above all, he also beat out multi-finger mashers despite only using one finger. He claims the secret to his success is Bomberman 64 and Mario Party games - whether true or not, it's truly impressive to watch him mash.
I have compiled a quick & dirty leaderboard
of the top 10 mashers in each category by achieved average rate. I have the remainder of the data available, and might make an anonymized version public if there's enough interest. If you tried out MashAttack and want to know your best rates or otherwise, just send me a message here or on Twitter (@TheOmnigamer).
And that's pretty much it for now. I didn't have any time to update the software or hardware since AGDQ '17, but I might have more opportunities to work on it leading up to AGDQ '18. I'm happy to answer any questions about the hardware setup and methodology as well.

Quick summary written by PCGamer
if you go to the Bradwell Electronics site
and sign up for the email newsletter, you get an email with the message:
Welcome to Bradwell Electronics - Better. Brighter. For Everyone. Thank you for registering your interest for the upcoming relaunch of the Bradwell Electronics website. When John Bradwell founded Bradwell Electronics over 62 years ago in 1964, he never imagined that the family business would become one of the most recognized brands worldwi$"%"$"!£2/.&%...
if you base64 encode the parts after "base64," disregarding the "intercept" part, you get an image with a QR code
and the words "Bradwell Amesbury". Amesbury is where Stonehenge is.
reading the QR code reveals the text string:
if you go to the bradwell electronics website and add the text string to the end of the web address you get a red text box with:
##DECRYPTKIT####################### ## GRID MINI VM V0.11[ADDRESS REMOVED]## ################################## \\>DECR_BRUTE_FORCE << 'fetch grid:[0x424cb726:0xbfe9c31a]/OENQJRYYVHZERCBEG.DAT' -->BRUTEFORCE NODES RUNNING... -->ESTIMATED BRUTEFORCE DECRYPTION COMPLETED IN: 6d 7h 46m 50s
where the last part is an obvious countdown
the Hex codes in this message translate to 1112323878 and 3219768090 in decimal. Searching the numbers or the 'file' name got me nowhere. A quick glance at the page source gave me no more info, but I'm no web dev. I know no JS and very little html
EDIT: (08/03/2016) so, the time has come and the message has changed. here it is:
##DECRYPTIONKIT############# ## GRID MINI VM V0.11[ADDRESS REMOVED]## ################################## \\>DECR_BRUTE_FORCE << 'fetch grid:[0x424cb726:0xbfe9c31a]/OENQJRYYVHZERCBEG.DAT' -->BRUTEFORCE NODES STOPPED. -->BRUTEFORCE DECRYPTION COMPLETED: ----> ARCHIVE DETECTED (OENQJRYYVHZERCBEG.ARCHIVE) ----> DECOMPRESSING ARCHIVE... you can click a hyperlink to get two files, a bradwell-press-release-07022019.pdf and a password protected zip archive, with one file inside called: bradwellinternalmemo-060702019.pdf
the press release is dated 7th
of February of 2019, which matches the filename. The pdf inside the zip archive may be from the 6th
of July, but the number format doesn't quite match.
The press release talks about a partnership with local government to save Stonehenge, after a cave-in during a tunnel excavation for A303 underneath the site.
I've tried some passwords that I could think of, couldn't open the zip. Launched a dictionary attack on it while I have to be away, I'll post more later
tried a pdf to text tool on the press reelease and got these numbers out (besides the rest of the image):

2016.07.02 10:08 Hyrodsan HDD and replacement HDD intermittently unable to be recognized by the OS
I currently use my SSD for my operating system (plus a few games), and my HDD for other programs and my data. After about a month into completing my build, my HDD suddenly is unable to be detected (I was playing Overwatch, installed on the HDD, at the time, and it caused the game to be stuck on the loading screen and pop up a 'resource not found' error). Subsequent boot-ups will either show the HDD as detected (but read and writes are near impossible, e.g., I try and open a pdf, but everything starts to stall), or not detected at all. After doing a SMART and chkdsk I thought they HDD had bad sectors and was faulty when I bought it, so I RMA'd it and got a new one. The new one was working fine for about a week, similar to the last one, then started exhibiting the exact same issues.
I initially thought it was my motherboard, but I used different SATA cables and ports, and verified them all to be working with my SSD. SMART, Seatools, and hwinfo64 all point to sector-related issues.
Most of the time, when I boot in, the OS and hwinfo recognizes my HDD, and for a brief second I am able to read my files e.g. open a pdf. Shortly after, OS and hwinfo will no longer think my HDD is there, and my HDD partitions disappear in the File Explorer, as if it disconnected.
Additionally, hwinfo64 is reporting some potentially worrying SMART issues (could it be that I bought 2 faulty HDDs in a row?). Reallocated sector count is at 100/36, Worst: 100 (Data = 152). Current Pending Sector Count: (100/Always OKm Worst: 100 (Data = 88). Off-line Uncorrectable Sector Count: 100/Always OK, Worst: 100 (Data = 88). The Data numbers have been increasing a bit at a time on every usage.
For those curious, I bought the Seagate 2TB HDD
for both HDDs. I suspect they were both part of a faulty batch.
Despite both HDDs failing, do all these symptoms point to them both having manufacturing issues that led to bad sectors? When I run my PC with just the SSD, everything works perfectly fine. Also I should point out that the BIOS recognizes my HDD.
